Softshell / Light Jacket for tall guys?

I know I'm not the only person having this problem... looking for a slim fitting softshell jacket that is slim fitting, so it wont' bunch up under a harness, long enough that it won't pull out, or show the world my belly button when I raise my arms.

I'm 6'2, around 180, 32 inch waist. My shell is an Arcteryx large and frankly.. its kind of big. I know eddie bauer makes tall sizes but not thrilled with their softshell selection.

Anybody know about the fit of the new BD gear? Even with patagonia the mediums are too short and the larges just seem to get wider.. hard to find a good store to try on lots of brands in Boston and I don't want to do trial and error with returns... help!

I've been pretty happy with the way Mammut fits.

Looking into the Black Diamond Crag Hoody, Rab softshell, northface verto micro.. any advice from anybody 6'2 and thin? Any luck finding clothes that don't hang off of you or have 3/4 length sleeves?

I'm 6' 4". Mammut or Salomon. Been really happy with my salomon softshell, slim fitting, long arms.

I have the same problems.

The Marmot Tempo hoody is long, almost too long.

Harness friendly pockets, stretch woven and almost 100% windproof.

Oh, yeah and you can find them on sale for about $60-90.

You gotta check out Eddie Bauer's First Ascent line. I know, I know, Eddie Bauer is for moms and yuppies--but the FA stuff is actually badass.

I am 6'5", 180 lbs., and the medium tall fits like a dream. I have the Accelerant jacket and it's hands-down the best fit I've ever had--it's an active cut and plenty long.

I have a Mountain Hardware Chockstone softshell. Light weight, super stretchy with a hood. Fits snug through the body, free in the arms, and it covers almost my entire butt. 6" longer than it needs to be for me. I'm basically average height for my weight (wide, stocky shoulders, though-- 38-40)

I am not sure they make it anymore, but it seems like a few newer MH softshells have a similar cut.

It's my favorite climbing layer-- really stretchy, doesn't bunch up and still covers my ass with arms straight up. I'm sure the fit/cut is similar through the size range, so it should cover your back even if you are tall and slender.

Check out Marmot...my tempo seems long in the right places.

6'3" and 175lbs; I just got a Dynafit softshell, forget the model, but it is a very long trim fit - great under a harness, sleeves stay out to length when reaching overhead.

if you can find this jacket then get it. super well designed. built for climbing. perfect for so many situations. it is a slim fit with long sleeves. im 6'4" and skinny and a L fits great. when i destroy it i will buy another.
