Cross post on Supertopo...

Topic Author's Original Post - Oct 17, 2013 - 09:16am PT
Did zodiac in late September in the BD biggun and think its time for a change. Both of my partners had the same harness and we all noticed the main buckle slipping after hauling, plus I want alittle more padding for hanging belays

Been reading a variety of reviews but was looking for more input.

I know Pete recommends the Yates bigwall, but I think that might be alittle burly for me.

I was looking at the astroman or shield harness from Yates or something from Misty Mtn, but am open to other suggestions. Keep it USA made this time though.

Thanks

Wade

Ive got the arcteryx big wall. Its nice and got good reviews on supertopo.I would look at whether your mostly aid or free and make a decision from there. The arcteryx is nice for free and aid, the downside is the haul loop isn't rated. Its also not bulky but still comfortable.

+1 on the waldo. especially if you don't have natural padding.

Yates Shield. All of what you need; none of what you don't.

I got the MM Titan. Great harness! I haven't done any heavy duty hanging belays and aiding in them.

I can not comment on the Yates, but its pretty burly looking.
