Just recently moved to Seattle and am looking for someone to take me under there wing as a mountaineering mentor/alpine climbing mentor. I'm a highly capable rock climber, leading 5.11 trad and sport with experience climbing alpine routes in the Sierras as well as climbing in Yosemite, Squamish, Indian Creek, Cochise, Toulumne etc. I'm dying to learn mountaineering, ice climbing and mixed skills and am committed to getting out at least every weekend. I can bring to the table the ability to carry large loads as well as a vehicle for going on trips. Let me know if you could use a partner or have an interest in passing on your knowledge to a very motivated young climber.

I just officially moved into Seattle after spending the whole summer dirt-bagging in the Cascades. By no means would I call myself an experienced mountaineer but I did my fair share this summer. I meant to do Liberty Ridge but it was a bad season and Rainier decided it wouldn't happen. I however did the Price Glacier which in some people's eyes is a pretty big endeavor. I haven't gotten out lately due to school starting back up again (I'm getting my PhD). Check out cascadeclimbers.com. A lot of people in the PNW hang out there. What gear do you have at the moment? Ice season starts in December and I am looking to get out a lot and winter mountaineering should start soon.
