? about Atomik's Simple Crimp sale last week
|
To anyone who purchased a set of the Atomik Small Simple Crimps. How do you like them? I'm considering buying a set since they're now 50% off. I'm wondering if they'd even be usable on a 20 degree overhang. I'm a V4/5 climber on my best day so these might be a bit too thin for me. Any thoughts on this set? Thanks. |

I got mine a couple days ago. I haven't put them up yet, but I like them. They have a nice texture, and vary in size from about a hockey puck diameter to a little bigger than the palm of my hand. The actual hold part of the hold is incut, with a surface area of about half the palm of my hand. |
|
We've set a few boulder problems so far with them, and so far I'd say that on dead vertical they're going to put you in V3-V5 territory. They vary a bit - from pretty incut to iffy slimper, so your mileage may vary, depending on which you use. |

Thanks for the feedback, guys. |

Ooops, I meant that the crimp was half a finger pad. |

We have them on a route on our wall, about 20 degree overhang and they work well. Route goes at about 5.12- I would guess. The incuts are nice on the overhang but you definitely can't hang out on the others. |

They're awesome. My Russian picks really stick right in these... |

Hi Doug, Unfortunately you just missed the sale. However, we do have the Free Sample Hold program or you can always ask for freebies if you are placing an order on our Special Requests page. All the comments that have been posted in this string are accurate. I suggest checking out our atomikclimbingholds.com/18-… |

Thanks, Kenny. I'm surprised the sale lasted that long. You guys make some nice holds and have very good prices even without the "Deals of the Day". I'll keep that set in mind as I'm looking to add some more crimps. |

got mine last week just before I left for the Red. Haven't put them up yet on wall, but they feel great for a crimp. Actually larger than I thought they would be, more user friendly edges than anticipated. |
