Government Shutdown.. help where to climb Devils Tower is closed!

I have a tripped planned from Minneapolis, MN to Devils Tower this weekend to clumb the Durrance route , however I dont think a budget will be passed in time that will allow me to do so! Where else can I climb?! Im looking for Trade routes,multi pitch. Rating from 5.6-5.9...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If it's not snowed under, consider the Black Hills. Although it lacks in climbing ambiance, there's a 3-pitch 5.7 Conn route at Sylvan Lake that matches up with anything on the Tower.

The Black Hills area got 3 feet of the white stuff in a freak snowstorm a couple days ago. Might want to rethink plans for anywhere in that neighborhood.

Thanks for the link on Conn Diagonal, looks great! Climbed this summer a bunch in the needles at was a blast. Unfortunately all the National Parks are shut down!! I think Ill have to pencil in Conn Diagonal unless I can somehow get on the Tower without getting some crazy federal fine.

Sounds like it is time to put the trad gear away for a few days and hit the spectacular sport climbing in Spearfish Canyon. No government agency shut us down and despite the snow there is still places to get pumped! Try Botany Bay (The Stadium) on for size.

Aren't The Needles close by?
