Ninja's in Yosemite!?

The Way of the Samurai is found in death. Meditation on inevitable death should be performed daily. Every day, when one's body and mind are at peace, one should meditate upon being ripped apart by arrows, rifles, spears, and swords, being carried away by surging waves, being thrown into the midst of a great fire, being struck by lightning, being shaken to death by a great earthquake, falling from thousand-foot cliffs, dying of disease or committing seppuku at the death of one's master. Oh wait... our land does not actually belong to us. It belongs to the federal gov't (which we pay for via taxes).
And now it is being held hostage by a bunch of inept congress a-holios.

If you can handle the hike in, it would be a magical place without all the crowds. And in theory, it is your land.

I'm guessing how strictly the NPS is enforcing closures depends on the Park. The fact is, most Rangers are furloughed and therefore unavailable to patrol.

My wife and I happened to pick this weekend to travel two-thirds of the way across the country to visit Acadia NP, and of course we thought we were screwed thanks to our elected idiots. But it turns out the Park closure is a blessing in disguise in this case, as most of Acadia's hiking trails are completely accessible from boundary trailheads or from the open state highway crossing the Park. Moreover, the beautiful -- and freshly paved! -- Loop Road is now a cyclist's dream with zero traffic. I feel bad for folks who vacationed to places like Yellowstone or Yosemite, where access to the Park is effectively shut down by road barriers, but here at Acadia, access is not an issue.

In fact, a lot of folks are out taking advantage of this rare window of opportunity. In addition to riding the Loop Road, apparently many of the local mountain bikers are poaching trails throughout the Park on which riding has been strictly forbidden -- and strictly enforced. Ditto with camping in the Park.

Technically, all of us disobedient hikers and cyclists are now trespassing and subject to ticketing and fines, but as of now, there is nobody getting paid to do the enforcing. However, if you choose to break the law, you must be willing to suffer the consequences (including having your gear confiscated). And since climbing is a higher-risk activity than hiking or cycling, of course, I imagine that the attitude of the Park Service towards closing famous climbing walls may not be so lax. And for sure don't count on the Park Service to rescue your ass if you get into trouble.

I think everybody has missed the true meaning of this title. He is asking if a single ninja is CURRENTLY in the Valley. A ninja that is so infamous and known by the generalized name that s/he is akin to Madonna.

We finished the nose during the closure. "Essential" employees and law enforcement are still in the park. I give it a 98% chance that you will get busted.

So Grog M, did you ignore all of the straightedge mountain project dbag critics and make it to the nose. Sounds like a lot of other climbers had the same idea.
