Flagstaff Trash Bash

Monkey Traverse/Crown Rock Area Trail Work
Where: Flagstaff Mountain - Boulder, CO
When: Saturday, September 14, 8am – 4pm
Hosted by: Flatirons Climbing Council

Details: In cooperation with the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, the FCC and volunteers will repair worn trails, close social trails and restore terrain at and near one of the country's most historic and popular bouldering areas, The Monkey Traverse. Decades of bouldering and hiking have taken a toll. It's our turn to give back! The FCC and OSMP will provide lunch, beverages and raffle items. Grab your gloves and please carpool – parking is limited. Register here.

Help spread the word, grab a friend and give back to the land that feeds the soul!

The 13th Annual Flagstaff TRASH BASH

Where: Flagstaff Mountain - Boulder, CO
When: 4:30pm - Tuesday, September 17
Hosted by: Flatirons Climbing Council

Details: It’s a clean, green, happening scene!

The 13th Annual Flagstaff TRASH BASH will be happening on Wednesday, September 18th, 2013. Mark your calendar, recruit/brainwash some friends, and head up to the Summit to pick up trash, eat dinner, drink beverages, and hang for the raffle.

The trash cleanup starts with signup at 4:30 pm (or when you get there after work), at the Flagstaff Mountain Summit. To get there, go about three miles up Flagstaff Road. Take a right on the Flagstaff Summit Road and drive to the Flagstaff Summit parking lot. Look for “The Stone Shelter” to the west of the lot.

After the work we’ll have food, beverages and a gear raffle. Bring work gloves and warm clothes for later. Car pool if possible. Parking fee will be waived. Be a part of the legendary Trash Bash!

The date has been re-rescheduled due to cold weather and rain forecasts and OSMP availability.

Many thanks to our generous sponsors:

The Access Fund, Wilderness Exchange Unlimited, Avery Brewing, The Spot Bouldering Gym, Boulder Beer Co., Scarpa, Neptune Mountaineering, Movement Climbing+Fitness, Mont-Bell, Patagonia, Fixed Pin Publishing, Reel Rock, REI, CliffBar, Mammut.

In keeping with the Trash Bash tradition, Mother Nature wants to rain on our parade - 80% chance forecasted. We've rescheduled for Tuesday, Sep 17 and shall hope to see everyone then - same time (4:30pm) but a much dryer place!

Drip-drip-drip...the sound of a postponed Trash Bash (new date: Tue, Sep 17, 4:30pm). But the Crown Rock/Monkey Traverse Trail Day is still happening Saturday. Our good friends at Wilderness Exchange Unlimited tossed into the raffle bin a 70m 9.8 Sterling Velocity - Sharma model. Registration is limited to 25 - 6 openings left. Great Harvest lunch, Avery suds and raffle afterward. Who needs a rope?

Due to complications from the torrential rains we will have to postpone this Saturday’s Flagstaff Trail Day until Oct 5. The City of Boulder OSMP staff must immediately attend to more pressing matters. Thanks for your patience and we’ll hope to see you in a few weeks.

The Trash Bash has been postponed indefinitely due to the damaging rains and run-off.

The Crown Rock/Monkey Traverse trailwork slated for Oct 5 has been cancelled. After the flooding there are bigger priorities that demand trail restoration that we'll be spearheading.

Is it possible the FCC could add some specifics about these trail projects? The lack of communication regarding the future of our public lands is becoming an issue IMO.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
