How does everyone manage their ticklists? Do you just use Mountain Project, scribble in guidebooks or something else?

I was looking for a way to sort all of it... like a spreadsheet or something. Anyone have any ideas?

just go climb, you'll remember the ones worth remembering

You need a computer to tell you that you are having fun?

I maintain mine on thecrag.com.

For alpine climbs and multipitch I usually write up a little journal entry after each. This for my own beta if I decide to climb it again later on, pitch length, gear requirements and so on. I also think it would be cool to have a record of all the climbs I have done when Im old. I don't usually record single pitch climbs though.

I tick routes on MP when I remember. But on the routes I do not on MP I just remember them in my head and eventually forget the crappy ones.

I was hoping for some sort of way to keep the record locally on my computer, not on a website. That's why I was thinking excel or something. Crag.com looks pretty good though.

I use something similar to thecrag.com that I coded up for my own personal use. It doesn't have a fancy UI; I'm an engineer so I can deal with an unfancy UI. Several friends have suggested that I clean it up and release it for public consumption (as desktop software and/or an app). I haven't pursued it further since I don't think the demand would be too great.

also for training purposes when I run laps on certain climbs... I wouldn't want to tick a public site multiple times for a single day... but It would be good to have a way to record and sort the training data.

You can export your MP ticklist into a .CSV file and create a spreadsheet for you to keep and maintain off-line. It's on the Ticks list of your personal page at the top, next to the RSS feed button.

Spreadsheet! Wish I would have started 20 years ago, from the beginning.

Interesting to compare year to year, season to season.

+1 Spreadsheet. If you're computer intelligent, unlike me, you could use access or some other DB software and get really OCD. Excel has limitation on what you can and can't do since it's a glorified calculator.

I only track gym routes. All the rest are irrelevant.

I get a new tattoo for every climb over 5.8 that I do.

What's your first tattoo gonna be?

does anyone have any spreadsheet layouts to share or macros written for them?

MP has this great function - Ticks -> export. Then paste into excel and split into columns (text to columns).

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
