Where to Climb around Boulder
Hey, |
Hey man, same boat, though I'm leaving in a day or two. |
Your closest bet is Clear Creek or Table Mountain (both in Golden). All OSMP land in Boulder county is closed. Long moderates: maybe try Playin' Hooky or |
What about Lumpy? Does anyone know what the access situation up in Estes Park is like? |

How about Poudre Canyon? Did they get hit hard? is the bouldering open there? |
Hwy 14 through the Poudre canyon was also washed out in several places. It's going to be a while before it opens. |
How is Castlewood Canyon doing? I imagine it is still a place to visit to get away from the crowds. |
Though, I bet Ved is still open for business! Yeah, the campground is open on the Nat Forest website. There are some really nice sport climbs going in up there. mountainproject.com/v/sketc… |

I'm going to be in Boulder from the 8th to the 14th of October. Any thoughts from the locals as to whether anything will be open then? Thanks. |
Only the previously mentioned areas. There's still been no definitive word on Eldo, Bocan or the Flatirons. |

Lover's Leap off of 285 has a few fun trad climbs as well with super easy access. I climbed there Sunday and didn't see another person. There is also Golden Gate Canyon and Staunton state park. GGC has a couple of trail closures I think, but is open for the most part. |

The general feeling is that Edlo and Boulder Canyon aren't going to be accessible for at least a few months. The road crew is in Eldo working now. I'm a little more optimistic. |

HWY 14 shows open on CDOT's website. |
Much of RMNP was reopened today, including Lumpy. |

michael voth wrote:HWY 14 shows open on CDOT's website.HWY 14 is open. There is road work and some road damage, so it might be slower going than usual. |

RMNP/ Estes Park is accessable only via Trail Ridge Road. Stock up residents!!! |

BREAKING: CDOT says Boulder Canyon roadway to be repaired and reopened by "mid to late October" |

Devil's Head and other South Platte areas had few impacts from the storm. In fact, Douglas County road crews graded Rampart Range Road last Thursday. Most of these areas are a much shorter drive than the Poudre or certainly Estes Park right now. |
