San Rafael Swell anti-drilling rally on 9/16

Rally details
Try and get to this if you can. Some of the leases I don't have a problem with, but Eagle Canyon in the Swell is not only beautiful, it has some excellent climbing. That area is completely inappropriate for drilling. |

Thanks for posting this up Andrew. If I was closer I'd be there. |

Here are some photos of the Eagle Canyon area: |

Damn, |

Hey I resemble that remark :) |

I'm glad as many people came as they did. Please send comments to the BLM even if you couldn't come. |
|
Hope you didn't use an internal combustion engine to get there. That would seem a little hypocritical. |

It is a logical fallacy in which the an attempt is made to discredit a position based on supposed inconsistency on the part of the proponent of a position. Clearly one's mode of transport to and from Eagle Canyon has nothing at all to do with whether it is a good idea to sell oil leases in Eagle Canyon. Fail! |

Thanks MarkJ. I have nothing against responsible drilling, and I have done consulting for an oil company in the past. I even said that I don't have a problem with all of the leases in question around the Swell. |

I thought you was talking about bolting... |

I haven't looked at the BLM lease info but I would guess they would use Mexican Mountain Road for access. That would truly suck. |
