Anyone else on mp heading to Yosemite for the AAC climbers meetup?
I am also attending and this is great info! Would love to have a list of people attending so we can connect with them before hand or even in the airport, etc. Thanks for posting this! |

Will anyone else be in California a bit ahead of the ICM? I will be in the Bay area starting Friday Sept 27, and would like to partner with someone for that weekend. I'll have a rental car and full gear. We could do day trips around the Bay area, or do a weekend road trip. I'm up for pretty well anything, trad, sport, top roping or bouldering, as long as it's fun! I lead sport to 5.10, well protected trad to 5.8. |
Also I had forgot to mention. . .
Other important items to bring: - Plate, or bowl for eating. - Spoon / fork. - Cup or mug. |
I would have totally forgotten those. Thanks! |

East Buttress of El Cap
East Butt El Cap, Climber Scott Wilson from Cananda Photo Andrew Burr West Butt El Cap Andrew Burr photographer Hello folks, This is Carol Kotchek from the AAC. As I write this we are fervently working on getting an e-mail out to all participants. Cor is correct. There is more food then you could eat. You might walk away gaining weight. The weather can do about anything so bring clothes from shorts to a puffy and something to wear on long climbs if the weather turns bad. It can definitely rain or even snow that time of year and it is possible to go hypothermic on a long climb if your not prepared. I'm adding some pictures from last year's meet. All photos by Andrew Burr. |

Off Width Clinic Photo Andrew Burr Last year we had an off width clinic. Should we torture people again this year Cor? By next week I will be posting on Facebook bios and pictures of this year's host climbers. |

I'm heading over from the UK. Really looking forward to meeting everyone. |
Count me in! I'm from Connecticut but often climb in NH and the Gunks. Training hard to avoid being "that guy". |
Greatly looking forward to meeting you all and doing some climbing in October. It has been too many years since I spent time in the valley. |
I'll be joining in as a host. I am looking forward to sharing pitches with you all! |
I'm looking forward to an awesome week in the Valley. I took my first trip to Yosemite this time last year with a buddy- we spent 3 days in Tuolomne and 3 days in the Valley- it was an incredible experience, but too short, can't wait to get back! I'm excited to meet good folks and share some fun rock adventures. I'm already slacking at work thinking about this trip... |
Make sure to brush up on your trivia skills folks! |
If you guys have any particular routes you want to do, this is the place to post that info. |
wyoming sheep ranch! cor, i'll let you lead the pitches! |

Carol Kotchek wrote:If you guys have any particular routes you want to do, this is the place to post that info. There are lots of exciting looking routes, but I'm interested in going after Royal Arches, despite Mike's stories of an epic descent. |
Royal arches, snake dike and nutcracker all look interesting! Not the most creative list for sure, but they must be classics for a reason, right? |
I don't think the Royal Arches epic descent is mandatory! I'd be up for Snake Dike, nothing like a little pre and post climb hiking. |
