App Crashing on install *Update*

Hey folks, I just rooted my Galaxy S3 and am now running Hyperdrive. But during the root I lost my MP app. So I download it again and now every time I try to install it, the app crashes. Anybody ever have a similar issue?

EDIT:

So the app is now working on my phone since the latest update. I'm still running the latest version of hyperdrive and it runs flawlessly so far. So if you haven't tried installing again since the update give it a try.

It sounds like the problem is with your ROM install, not the MP app. I've run the MP app on a number of ROMs and devices(gs blaze, gs2, gs4) and have never had a problem. I'm definitely not an expert on this but this is what I know from dealing with similar problems in the past. Start by seeing if you can wipe just the MP app data in your app manager and then installing. If that doesn't work I would recommend going back and reinstalling your ROM while making sure to wipe everything(twrp super wipe, Darkside super wipe equivalent) before and after you install the ROM. If for some reason it still doesn't work after that you can always try searching the forums over at XDA-Developers or just try a different ROM. I'm personally a big fan of the AOKP MR-1 Milestone 2(I know the MP app works with it on both the gs2 & gs4)

Hey Clay,

I'm having the exact same problem, please update the thread when/if you find the solution, and I'll do the same.

I'm having this problem on new GS4. App worked at first, but now won't load. Tried reinstalling, but now it just crashed on install.

Add me to the list. Rooted my Note 3 and now the mountainproject app crashes. So I'm forced to choose between the battery-draining samsung bloatware or mountainproject. My rooted older nexus 7 works fine though.

Looking at the stacktrace, it's the same as this guy's problem:

I'd be happy to offer some free development work if you guys want to give me access to the source.

I had the same issue with a droid. I tried uninstalling then reinstalling only to find that MP now charges for the application! Because I really need to access some info, I paid for it and reinstalled. Still crashes and will not download new area data.

I highly recommend not buying the app until this is fixed.

The app is free now. They are working through a few issues with the new version atm though. See mountainproject.com/v/mp-mo…
