My wife and I are thinking of going to France next fall.
Sounds like Ceuse is good, but long approach. Verdon sounds cool, but not right for my wife.
Any other suggestions for good single pitch sport climbing with nearby good lodging and food?

Thanks,
Don

Went Buoux out of Apt France quite a while ago. Routes were totally accessible and bolted up for moderates and plenty of hard stuff for post climbing rubberneckin . Its cool to see avingon and paris on the way too.

Where and when in France do you want to travel? it makes big difference. I used to live in S. France and climbed at La Turbie. Nothing like climbing in the morning and sunning one's self in the afternoon on the beach. Other areas like Buoux are good fun.

Orpierre has a wonderful and quint little town with tons of single pitch climbs. I remember arriving and being told that if there was any problems, anchor issues, etc to go down and talk to the Mayor! Stone fired pizza and ice cream next to the climbing store along with ice-cold beers. Gites to stay in and the most welcoming community. Enjoy!

Another vote for Orpierre. Mostly south-facing crags, so best for spring/fall climbing. Nice little village, crags almost all within walking distance.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
