Cheapest camping at or near seneca

Going to Seneca this labor day weekend. I'm a college student from Ball State so my trips I try to stay on a low budget. (used to camping prices like miguels) Where is the cheapest place to stay for a friday,saturday, and sunday night? Any info would be great!! thanks

I found some campsites near the northern end of what I believe was Alleghany Mountain Trail. It's just a few miles north of Seneca on 33 towards Elkins. You'll take a left on an unmarked road. There's a pull off to the right that looks like you can camp there or you can continue until you see a small clearing and sign for the trail head. to the trail head and hike down the dirt road. You'll have to cross a small creek with a gate on the other side (no motorized vehicles) Keep an eye out on the right side of the road for plastic blue blazes and some clear area with stone fire pit. It should be less than a mile hike from the car and there is an awesome stone fire pit. Someone also made full size lounge chairs out of stone. It's a sweet spot and worth the walk (especially considering it is free).

I didn't camp there myself. I found it after I had already paid the fee at Seneca Shadows, you may have to get some kind of backcountry permit. If you're worried about it ask at the Discovery center near the rocks. But I think you could easily get away with camping there for free.

We used the walk-in sits at Seneca Shadows. That was $15/night. I thought that was relatively inexpensive. It gets you showers, a pit toilet, and running water. The tent platforms were built up and each site had a nice picnic table. The other option is the Yokam's. This is a few dollars less expensive, but is a little more of a scene from what I have been told.

Whites Run, County Rd 33/3, a few miles West of Seneca has some free camping in pullouts. I cant think of any legal free camping much closer.

Yeah, I think those were the sites that I saw. You can always pull up to the showers in Seneca Shadows and use them even if you aren't staying there.

If it is just you yokums campground. 6.85 per person per night. More than one person Shadows for sure. If you stay in the walk in sites there is a path that puts you right behind the general store.

Also about four miles south of town there is a lady that sells eggs for 1.75 a dozen....she has about 200 chickens there and the eggs are amazing. There is a sign at her house on the west side of the road.
