Beal UNICORE Ropes

I purchased a wall master (the 10.5) to try out in our climbing gym. It handles nicely, and seems thinner than 10.5 to me (it looks more like a 9.8; but maybe this has to do with the sheath and core being more closely bonded together.

The most odd aspect of the rope that I've found though is that when the rope is weighted and a climber is being lowered the rope is almost ribbed. There are slight bump-outs on the rope. My only concern with this is excessive wear over time in these spots that are raised up just a bit higher than the rest of the rope. Has anyone else notices this with other unicore products, or the wall master rope specifically?

Thanks.

Yes, I have the Diablo 10.2 I think and I have also noticed a ribbed type pattern when the rope is loaded, not sure why though, but you are not alone. Climbed about 30 pitches with the rope so far and no complaints yet.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
