Blitzo! :-(

And the first pic on the thread is "at Todd's." Two Joshua patron saints.

I was supposed to meet the man this summer, on his annual trip to climb with his good friend Locker.

Really bummed that didn't get to happen.

Rest easy.

How very sad ... I knew Bill only through his amazing pictures. Sincere condolences to his family and friends.

RIP Blitzo.

The love his good friends, extended to him in his final days, shows how much he was loved.

Bill, I'll see you at the rocks.

His photography is a standard that I strive to match (and probably never will). His passing is a great loss to the climbing community.

RIP Blitzo

We are really lucky to have his work on this site, one of the things that makes this site worth visiting.

RIP Blitzo! I never had the pleasure of meeting you but always enjoyed your photos and comments. You're character came through even to us so far away.

Two years......

I went and climbed some of those fine climbs you put up on Dozer Dome over the past two weekends. Hung out with some good friends, partied and thought about what you have been up to lately....

Sadly, I never saw this thread, probably because I come here so rarely. It was great reading through it and seeing how much everyone loved Blitzo, his photos, his antics, his epic stories (and there were many), his love of fine beer, just the truly original Blitzo.

Joshua Tree is still not the same without him. I miss hanging out with him and wandering around the desert because what started out as a day of climbing turned into lazy rambling and taking photos. Hanging around with him and Locker always kept me laughing as those two fought like an old married couple.

Anyway, just wanted to pay tribute to my old friend. Gone, but certainly never forgotten. This was the last photo he sent me saying, "Someday I'll be feeling better!"

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
