Front Range Gyms: Best AC?

Back in the Front Range after a bit of a summer trip, it is time to do a few weeks of lots of gym bouldering to get the power up a bit in preparation for the good temperatures in September and onward. From Golden, I can go either to Boulder or Denver gyms (our new gym isn't quite ready yet...). All of the gyms are good, in their own ways, but my main criteria for the next few weeks is avoiding the late summer heat. Basically, I'm tired of it being hot, and want some powerful AC for my gym sessions.

So, who has the best AC in the Front Range? I'm particularly interested in DBC; I liked climbing there over the winter...how is it in the summer? How about the Spot? Movement?

For Boulder gyms, I think the Spot usually has the best AC. But you won't freeze.

I couldn't say for sure, but I don't think any of them have ac, but evaporative coolers instead which can work quite well if designed properly. The outdoor heat will be gone in a week or two, though.

Not sure why you guys think it's a funny request. It's a deal breaker where I train, even with swamp coolers it's miserable in there on a typical tue/thur in July-August. The first summer they were open, no swamps. I drove an extra half-hour each way to train somewhere else.

Aside from comfort, trying to climb at your limit in a hot gym is a quick way to trash your skin, and pick up little tweaks. The nature of gym bouldering with frequent slopers and sloping pinches doesn't help.

I hope you find one, OP, it's a driving reason why I have one of my hangboard phases this time of year. Board is at home, so I can control the AC. Good luck.

Set up a hangboard in the Cherry Creek mall.

Thanks for the serious reply. As to hangboarding at home, I basically live in a shed with no AC, so...

Anyway, Denver folks, what's the deal with AC at the DBC?

I remember the DBC being pretty warm. They have some large swamp coolers but I think they leave the garage doors open most days as well.

I haven't actually been in a couple months, so I also could just be imagining things.

Good info, thanks. Probably will go with the Spot. I remember it being reasonably tolerable there last August.

The DBC has been really great recently. The AC has kept it nice and crispy cool.
