Relating to Boulder and Clear Creek. Is a pulley needed to make it across the water for some of the climbing areas? Or is a couple of lockers on slings good enough?

If a pulley is recommended, then should it be a double? Or is a single enough and backed up with a locker?

most tyros in BoCan and CCC are old ropes. I usually use a quick draw from my belay loop to the tyro ropes as a primary, then a sling hitched at the tie in points with a locker behind that as a back up.

There are very few areas that require a pulley. The only one that comes to mind is the wire tyro to get to the mission wall in CCC. but even then, you can just use an old 'biner that you don't mind getting chewed up. But for the sake of the wire tyro, using a pulley is ideal. No need for two, just back it up like you would the quick draw in the first scenario. Since the back up line isn't bearing weight, the locker will loosely slide down the wire behind the pulley.

The only place you need a pulley is going across the steel cable to the Mission Wall in Clear Creek. Carabiners are fine on the ropes in Boulder Canyon.

And by this time of year, most of the Bocan crossings can be done via rock hopping or a quick wade if you don't want to deal w/ a tyrol.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
