Any input on this cord? Can I use my Gri Gri (the orignal one) with this?

I've owned 2 revelations over the past 6 years and love, not like, this cord. It's the perfect rope for when you're ready to try hard. And since I tend to put a gazillion redpoint attempts on my projects I've discovered that it's durability is insurmountable. Beautiful, seamless handle and my belayers have never complained about slippage thru either the original GriGri and very reliable with the GriGri2. If you find one on sale grab it!

(And I have no conflicts of interest or disclosures to report.)

Thanks for the input guys. Gear X has them on sale, 189.00 for the 70m think I'll grab one.

I'm a little bit old-school, but I do like skinny ropes. A couple things:

1. 9.2 seems skinny for working a route. I have no experience with this particular rope, but I save the skinny cords for alpine, and for the last redpoint burn (where you do not expect to fall). For working routes I use a 9.6 or 9.8. Ultimately, it's more important what you're comfortable with. But also see what the manufacturer says.

2. A GriGri is not certified to hold on this rope. While it might work, why would you add risk? Over time, the performance of the GriGri on a 9.2 may degrade. Get a GriGri2: it'll tested on skinny ropes.. It's worth the extra money.

Have fun!

I got my hands on one of these at Neptune today. The rope is a bit thick for a 9.2 (not that that is a problem). Now that I have held one I know it will hold in an original gri gri as I have been belaying friends on their own ropes that are smaller than this one. I'm psyched for this to show up on my door step, take it out and do what I do best... fall on it!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
