How about a roller coaster ride instead?

Thank you to everyone that came out to to learn about working with stone. Thanks also to Eldorado Canyon S.P. for hosting our third workshop!

That was a great workshop, and I'm proud to have been a part of it.

Volunteers spent four hours learning:

  • rigging, drags and lifting
  • splitting with feathers and wedges
  • how to operate a pretty burly rotary hammer
  • shaping tools

In the rigging workshop, we got 500+ pound rocks in the air and set pulley systems to move them. All with packable gear. Not trivial.

The participants are going to be a very valuable asset to sustainable climbing access trails (and mountain bike trails - there was a COMBA rep in the hizzle!). Thank you for donating your morning - I'll hoist one with you guys any damn day.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
