Greetings! my name's Lucas and I'm a new MP member (this is my first post). I'll be hiking through Chamonix in the French Alps from July 26 to July 29, and I am hoping to meet up with some climbers along the way. Will anyone here--or anyone you know of--be in the area and up for some cragging? I'm still a novice--after cutting my teeth on Southern Cal. rocks, I can follow in the 5.8-5.9 range, and can lead (sport, mostly) in the 5.6-5.7 range.

If no one will be in Chamonix while I'm there, maybe someone can refer me to a climbing club or something in the area.

Thanks a lot,
Lucas

There's a place in the middle of Chamonix called the Office de Haute Montagne (OHM). It's next to the church. They have tons of information on climbing and hiking and there's a book where you can leave notes to find partners. There are usually people at the campsites in Chamonix looking for partners as well.

Hi Tom,

Thanks a lot for the reply. I will def. be checking out the OHM office and the campsites in Chamonix.
