Incredible Hulk Snow Condition

I'm heading up to the Incredible Hulk this week. Anyone know what the snow conditions are up there? Crampons/Ice Axe, or very little snow? Condition of the descent?

No you do not need ice axe/crampons. Conditions are great in general but weather varies day to day. Spring is running, no mosquitoes. Check weather forecast before going. Easy to walk up/down soft snow.

Next weekend looks great for climbing there.

The recent heat wave caused all the mosquitoes to wake up. Tons and tons of bugs. Make sure to bring bug spray and some type of bug netting. Epic!

a week and a half ago the bugs were horrendous.

We rapped venturi effect with 2 60m ropes, really straightforward. it looked like you could rap with a single 70 or possibly a 60. anyone care to chime in about the raps or post a link to the beta?

you cannot rap Venturi with a 60m rope

Venturi is setup to be rapped with a 70m rope. A few of the raps are very very close so an 80m rope is awesome. The best is two 70m ropes which allows you the stations off to the side.

The only way to rap with one 60m would be to leave some gear on a few of the bolts mid pitch on Venturi.
