Ivan Greene? What ever became of the chipping thing... ?

You want it in writing? How about this: |
|
A letter is bullshit. If someone sees someone doing that, they have an obligation to tell that person to stop. If they don't, call DEC and follow him and get a plate #. Then they'll be prosecuted for defacing public property. Plain and simple. Piss on humiliation, let the DEC deal with them, that's what we pay them for. I paid fines for marking trees one time a LONGGGG time ago... It should be dealt with via the law... |

(So I dunno, maybe you're right...he didn't know it was wrong and shoulda been warned.)So really he wrote himself a letter and just forgot about it... |

One that watches something that isn't right going on, but lets it go is pretty much just as guilty in my opinion, the law seems to see it that way too. It's called accessory. If you see an old lady being mugged by a group of armed thugs, you'd be stupid to jump in to try to help. Your 'help' would be pretty useless once you've been stabbed in the chest. The best thing to do would be to call for help and make note of as much as you can to try and identify the assailants. Being the witness of a crime is certainly NOT accessory. Should the people making the video have said something to him? Maybe, maybe not, but saying that they have ANY fault in what Ivan was doing is simply ridiculous. |

But then again some would argue maybe that would have been a good thing. If we can't collectively use it without destroying it maybe it shouldn't be used? As far as I know it was a pretty effective approach they took with regard to stopping the chipping. I asked the same q's about why they didn't just call the police on him. |

And you Ian are what society has become... Better to go down lion than live as a lamb... Bahhhhhhh!!!!!! |

Ivan's a poor example to get behind for human rights/advocacy issues. |

That's an entirely inappropriate post. You never know what emotional state any poster is in. Encouraging someone to kill themselves, even in jest, is never OK. Ever. |
