I don't normally do this, not when you stuck it and did not take the time to at least dissemble it and get it out.....but somebody's 2nd just left a master cam on the 5th pitch..had to be this past weekend I suppose, climbed it today....was not jammed, just forgot to clean it I guess. I have had 2nd's and clients leave stuff behind, but I have always rapped back to get it...being the last pitch, I suppose you might have overlooked it. Let me know the size and coding you used and will get it back to you.

This must be the kinder, gentler Dow. I've read your posts before and commend your newfound compassion! You must be softening with age.

I am still an asshole when it comes to littering/laziness in the wilderness Frank. We hauled out a handful of other crap as well.

I recall three other fixed pieces besides the one you referenced from my 3rd Pillar ascent a couple weeks ago. You get those out too?

I'm glad to hear you are a kindler, gentler form of asshole! LOL!

Yo! That's definitely my cam! We were on the route last sunday afternoon/evening (father's day). I got a lil haired on lead through the cruxy finger lieback and poorly placed the yellow metolius mastercam in an awkward flare. My second wasn't a very experienced trad climber and couldn't get it out. It was also getting late so I told her to move on and finish the climb so we could hike out. I currently live in Bishop and would be PSYCHED to get that piece back! Its my favorite cam! Give me a call 805 459 2150. Thanks for posting!

Also to prove that its mine the cam had a thin strip of bright blue duct tape around the thumb loop as a personal identifier! Stellar route though! It was my first time on it and besides losing my favorite cam it was an incredible outting

Jary, I just got out of the Incredible Hulk area with a different partner....still not home myself....I let my partner on the Third Pillar keep that cam in case no one claimed it...he is home...his email is joe at realtyabsolute.com...tell him that you and I talked and identified your cam...great guy, will get it shipped out to you...glad we could get it back to its home...master cams are invaluable..cheers

Thanks Dow! Sounds like you are hitting all the primo lines out here in the Eastern Sierra! If your ever in the area and in need of a climbing partner hit me up!
