OK to keep a workout log in training forum?

Or would that annoy people always being on top? Another site I use has a training log subsection tucked away down at the bottom, useful for keeping track and keeping your comrades accountable. Any chance that could happen here?

There has got to be a better way to do that. Wouldn't Facebook or something work? Your post would bound to be clogged by every idiot on the board who would heckle you. A training log tied to your profile that you could choose to open to view to others might be a cool feature for the site though, worth a mention to the site owners.

2,200 threads and never saw what you described become a problem. Would be cool, and since most of my workouts are climbing related nowadays, makes more sense to post here.

Who might I mention it to?

Thanks!

This is why, on the 9th day, Dog created blogs.

Received and understood. I've seen a good bit of nonsense on here. Definitely some... "interesting" characters. Guess I was just trying to stay positive about it haha

Most succinct description of MP I've ever seen posted.

As long as you are 't a jerk, there's no rule that says you can't post your training logs. However, I believe they will be interpreted as unmitigated spray and treated accordingly. Personally, I hope you post up, as the ensuing flame feet is likely to be entertains for onlookers.
There was a "middle aged weight loss" thread awhile back, where folks occasionally reported on their progress. If you are just looking for encouragement to keep up the training you could probably get away with something like "Who's keeping up with their training plan?"

What's wrong with good old fashioned paper and pen?

Everybody wins! Keep your eyes peeled

Regarding a blog, or pen and paper, the forum thing holds a few benefits in my eyes.. One, it's centralized... In the past, losing that notebook could have been devastating. Online, I can pull it up anywhere. And two, more important, people better than you can come with advice. On the other site, you'd be surprised how many people skim those things. Post a video and ask how does my form look on this?, what is this called?, I'm trying to get stronger while maintaining weight, how does my program look? anything, and you'll get a handful of answers to choose from, often where you can glance at THEIR log to see if said advice is worth taking... if they walk the walk. My summer plans are climbing climbing climbing, and I kind of expect to hit that first plateau. Probably shouldn't expect too much :p

I personally would post my individual training questions rather than my entire regimen. Besides, Excel is was prettier than MP (sorry...).

Two hangboard workouts from this past cycle.

I think excel makes a way better tracker for pure data, and questions can go on the forum. Best case for you: Use google docs (backed up, accessible everywhere) for your data, then use the forums for whatever questions you have. Separate your seasons and different types of training into different files.

Best of luck in training!

adamx: there's something like that going on over on ukclimbing.com if you don't mind sharing your workouts with a load of brits. Everybody (in the informal group, that is) posts on Sunday, and the others can and often do offer advice, congratulations and encouragement. It's been going on for ages too, currently in week 326.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
