Hey folks---

my name is katie and im moving to boston from tucson at the end of june. i cant fathom leaving the west (so beautiful and incredible climbing everywhere!!!!)---so im trying to find some fabulous partners so the move feels more comfy.

moderate climber here with a lot of experience; will lead 11b'ish sport, can follow 12s, gear leads vary (im awful at off widths and big hands!) but ok on smaller stuff.

Looking for EXPERIENCED partners who wants to get out whenever possible. gunks, conway, rumney, etc sound great to me!

hope to hear from ya, katie o.

Hey Katie - I am coming back to Boston for a month from the beginning of July and I will likely have the entire month completely free (I'm in grad school at the moment, so summer holiday!) I am more or less quite familiar with the climbing scene around New England and will have a car (+dog), if you need a partner, let me know. I do everything as well, and love it all. Lead 5.13 sport, 5.12 trad on a good day. Good head game and safe belay :)

You should check out Farley/Rose Ledges since its the closest destination crag near you. I frequently climb there and have a lot of projects so I can show anyone around (no guidebook). Tons of sport, trad, and mixed. I love Rumney but I feel like ticking off my local list first, not that I wouldn't be up for going once in awhile.

The MetroRock gym is a great place to find partners. Boston has a very healthy and large climbing community. You shouldn't have a problem meeting folks. There are also a few locals on Rockclimbing.com, too, including a massclimber's thread. It's not very active any more, but everyone still reads it.

Don't worry about not being good at offwidths and large hands - you'll be lucky to find vertical crack (period) in the northeast. Welcome to the land of horizontals, roofs, corners, and slab! wooooo!!!

Somebody should get her on Bullet Proof at Farley (evil grin)

Sprague, Nice one, plenty of other offwidths in its immediate area that are just as fun! Although its the only one you go inverted on.

No killer bees here yet though! and things that eat or poison you are extremely rare, at least in NH
