Gee, if only I knew how to make a trail in the dirt.

Maybe I should take lessons.

LOL!

There's more to it than you might suspect.

Ya there's a lot more to it...

Wish I could make it to the workshop.

That's like saying the only skills needed to resole shoes are being a glue sniffer and a smart ass. LOL!

Holy crap, Monty, those are beautiful steps.

And if anybody is interested, on Friday, 6/28, starting at about 4pm, we'll have a follow up session in Eldo. A chance to reinforce your learning. Beverages provided by BCC afterwards. PM me or Tony B.

Also, Access Fund hooked us up with some goodies for dispersal at the training.

Only problem with you in particular teaching me to be a man is that skirt you're wearing. It clashes with your heels.

Thanks to everyone that came out to learn and sharpen basic trail building skills today. It was a great turn out of highly motivated volunteers. Not only did we discuss basic tread design, but we polished up a section of trail that had been worked on last year by volunteers from the climbing community!

Thanks also to the Access Fund, Boulder Climbing Community, Eldorado Canyon State Park and Mike McHugh, Jefferson County Open Space Trail Crew, and the American Alpine Club for your support of these trail workshops.

Keep an eye out for announcements regarding the next Trail Building Workshop, to be held at Eldo. The topic will be stone work and will be a great opportunity to get familiar with methods used for building with stone.

We had a pretty sweet follow-up session in Eldorado last night. Eleven volunteers showed up and we cut tread on the Rincon-Cadillac connector trail:

Before.

During.

After.

The group did an amazing amount of work, Boulder Climbing Community provided the volunteers, dinner, and beverages. Outstanding evening.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
