Just spoke with a buddy who lives at the Hells Gate condominiums, and he said it was good to go last week before this past Tuesdays storm. So I would assume that after the most recent wind drifts melt you'd be good to go.

Yeah. it's dry and you can glissade down a number of ways.

Climbed it yesterday after work, its good to go to the summit with minimal snow. Descent trail had snow along the ridge, but can easily be avoided. At the saddle between Superior and Little Superior, it is possible to ski down the talus to some snow and glissade the discontinuous snow patches. Enjoy!

What was your rough car-to-car time? I'm thinking about hitting it up Sunday.

2 hours if you take in the view and burn one up top

Went on 6/8 and it was great! One or two short stretches of snow on the way up, but not deep. The descent is mostly dry with some sections you could glissade.

I climbed it yesterday and the glissading is on it's way out for sure. I feel bad for whoever buried their brand new X4 on the route.

Sounds like a challenge... where is it?

saw that x4 too. it was SUPER DEEP! could not even touch the trigger at all. its a .5, so the crack is pretty not hand friendly. bring your standard 2 nut tools and shenangians if you want it out.

location: pretty far up there, maybe within the last 1/4 of the ridge on a short kinda steeper cruxy section. sorry, not super specific. you will find it if you follow the true ridge the whole way up as its pretty obvious. its about 1 foot above my longest reach off the good ledge, so bring some gear to hang from.

Saw it on Saturday.

Was bored enough on Sunday to do it again and try to get it out. Poked at it for a while and didn't really feel any progress.

I gave up. Did find a ski on Saturday and a pair of skins on Sunday. So that was pretty cool.
