Instead of sitting there taking pictures like a jackass and encouraging this to go on long enough to write your dumb captions, why didn't you scare it off. Dumb people like you are the reason bears get dispatched.

Dumb people also don't know the difference between "their" and "there". Sorry, couldn't resist this one!

Three large men left their camp to go fishing, with all or their food left out.
I was alone, sleeping in my van.
I was not eager to get out of my van to chase a bear -- and for what? It would come back once I left -- which was very soon, as I was meeting people to climb. I could have collected all of the other 3 men's food, tried to pack it into my van, and driven it to somewhere .
But, as a woman alone, I did not feel like tackling either the bear , nor the three "mountain Men", who were drinking and shouting much of the evening. My friends, who were camped in the same place (but left at dawn) were concerned about the many curses and swear words their young son was exposed to.
I was glad to hide in my locked van ....

Sibylle your excuses are really poor. I'll leave it at that.

How exactly are her excuses poor? Because she didn't want to dig around in a campsite occupied by three big dudes who may or may not take very kindly to a stranger f'ing with their gear? What if they were drunk rednecks? Or worse, drunk armed rednecks? Let me clue you in about how much burly rednecks like being "corrected"....I have interacted with such folks growing up back home and on the Eastside, and believe you me, it might not end well. And what about the bear? You really expect sibylle -- who is all alone!! -- to go and harass a bear? Are you dense? Hmmm...I'll leave it at that.

She could have scared the bear away, instead of taking pictures. Really not a hard thing to do

Anything more you say is a lame excuse. I'll leave it at that.

We camped at the pullout near the creek across from the Pratt's Crack area. three "Hillbilly" type men left all of their food stacked in crates. I woke up when the bear knocked over a crate.
