Hueco Tanks Summer Climbing?

I'll be in El Paso next week for work and was thinking of hitting up Hueco Tanks. I'm looking to hit up some of the trad and sport routes if I can get a permit. From what I can tell it's going to be hot as hell but hopefully I can climb early morning or in shaded areas.

Does anyone have experience climbing around this time of year? Tips on getting a permit or "escort" would also be appreciated.

Thanks

You might need to go to Juarez for an escort...

Most of the sport and trad climbs are on north mountain which is part of the self guided area of the park. The "front side" of north mountain, where the sport and trad lines are, is in shade in the mornings until about 1130am. This time of year you don't need reservations to get on north mountain unless you are going to the park on a holiday. Park opens at 7am Fridays - Sundays. I would go early as possible to beat as much heat as possible and plan to leave by noon.

Thanks Ian that's exactly what I needed to know.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
