Mt. Whitney Triple Crown ideas

What are some thoughts and ideas for Triple Crown link ups in the Mt. Whitney area. Something along the lines of bagging 3 different peaks in one day. We're mere mortals, so looking at nothing harder than 5.8-5.9 so we can enjoy it and move fast. Open to ideas, beta and "yer gonna die!"'s. I know there's the East Face and East Buttress on Whitney, Mithril Dihedral and Fishhook on Russell. Not sure what other worthwhile peaks are nearby that can be tackled in a day of climbing and scrambling.

If you are willing to move locations to Tuolumne Meadows, the Triple Crown idea quickly becomes a quadruple or 5 - 6- 7- 8 crown idea . Tenaya Peak to Mathes to Cathedral is very popular and pretty reasonable for fit confident climbers . If you add in the nine echo peaks you can really add the summits up

A lot of good info on that is here :

With Whitney you have the permit headache , and the peaks are a bit more spaced out ... plus higher elevation to sap your strength.

I've done the E. Face and E. Buttress in a day , maybe add in Mt. Muir for a triple crown ...?

The Tuolomne traverse is already on the plate for this summer as well. It looks amazing! How was the E. Face and E. Buttress in a day? And thanks. Any other ideas or thoughts out there?

It was very doable , I would start with the E. Buttress , then the E. Face as it is much easier , then from the summit of Whitney hike towards Mt. Muir and trail crest junction . From the hiking trail , Mt. Muir is an easy scramble , then just take the hiking trail down to the portal . Although you might need a different permit to exit on the trail .... shoot . You better research that .

Summiting Keeler Needle is also easy from the hiking trail ...

Thanks! Will do. Trying to gather information so I have a better idea of what permit I can use. Might have to readjust the goals depending on the permit situation. Is the permit system that big of a PIA? We're trying to get a 5 day window to allow for permit issues and weather. Still in the planning stages.

Another option w/o Whitney permit hassles:

How about the Whitney Basin traverse? Lone Pine Peak to Mt. Carillon - You get to tag Lone Pine Peak, LeConte, Mallory, McAdie, Muir, the needles, Whitney, Russell and finally Carillon.
