Does anyone think the upcoming price for mountain project app on the phone is a little steep?

You mean $10 for an electronic guidebook to everywhere? No.

Not at all. The MP app has saved me from buying at least 5 guidebooks for areas I was only going to be in once. Those guidebooks would of likely cost me close to $150. $10 is a drop in the bucket. The app has also been my sole source of beta on several climbs I've done. I really think it is one of the best apps I have on my phone. I would love to see photo uploading come into play...especially if some sort of beta creator was built into the uploader to allow for easy beta photos to be uploaded to the site. I feel that this would significantly increase the quality of the database for everyone.

I'm pretty sure I can speak for all the Admins (something I've been told I'm doing whether I like it or not) when I say that you should STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT A $10 APP WHEN YOU PAY AT LEAST $50 A MONTH FOR YOUR iPHONE! Drink two less microbrewed beers in your ENTIRE LIFETIME and you've saved enough money to pay for the app.

$10 is what I pay in gas to climbing for a day. The price is definitely worth it. The MP App is a great compliment to guidebooks I have and a great substitute for those I don't.

Do you feel you are being overcharged for your own contributions?

This post violated Rule #1. It has been removed by Mountain Project.

Maybe users could get a discount based on how much they've contributed to the site and database. Total Freeriders, $10, contribute a bunch of useful beta, $5-- work as an Admin, free. I hear computers are good at math right?! We've all got these points rankings already... Would it just be a tidal wave of trolling just for the free app?
