I know these route are in Colorado, but I think the Utah Deserts section applies more. Does anyone have any info on linking Otto's route with medicine man in Colorado national Monument as far as traveling too and from those towers? Is it best to rap in and do Sentinel then cross country it over to Otto's and back to jug out, or hike in via the monument trail? does anyone know if one 60m rope is sufficient for the rap into sentinel? I've looked at the map on the gov website and though no trail is shown another person told me there is a trail between those two towers through wedding canyon. Any advice?

Spencer I would rap in by medicine man hike to the base of otto's rout climb it, rap down, and then climb medicine man rap the 5.10 and it will put you right where you need to be to jumar back up to the rim. Medicine Man is possibly one of the best cracks I've done in CNM enjoy!

Did this XC hike from Sentinel Spire to Independence years back. Some route finding around the weird black rock mini canyons you'll encounter but no real hinderances. Fun day. Did the rap in-jug out thing from near the campground.

single 60m is fine for sentinel raps

Bump'n an old thread.

Can anyone give some beta on the Sentinel Spire rap conditions? You guys got a ton of snow over there (I assume you have a bit)? What's access like for this area right now? If it's sunny on Sunday my girlfriend and I would like to do Medicine Man. I saw some info on down-climbing some slabs after the rap. Would that be SAF (sketchy as fuck) right now?

Thanks.
