The El Cajon Mountain climbing area is in close proximity to the San Diego River Park Foundation property. This property's purpose is to protect and conserve San Diego's threatened habitat and wildlife in perpetuity. Specifically, the San Diego River Park Foundation are protecting golden eagles that nest in the area and ceanothus, a California lilac that is an endemic sensitive plant species. Please avoid and limit recreational activities at the San Diego River Park Foundation property to promote San Diego's threatened habitat and wildlife. Thank you!
Description
P1: Straight up until right before the anchor where the bolt line traverses left.
P2: Straight up until you reach a series of horizontal seams where the bolt line trends slightly right.
Slightly overhanging the entire way.
Option: Lead in one push to the second belay with a 60m rope.
Protection
P1: 12 bolts leading to a 2-bolt anchor/rapp station.
P2: 19 bolts leading to a 2-bolt anchor/rapp station.
Several other bolts exist to the right of the P2 anchor, originally placed to setup a ledge.
Another 2-bolt anchor is located above the rim on a large boulder.
Rapp to the ground from the second belay with a 60m rope.
If you rapp in from above the rim, a 70m is likely needed to reach the ground.
