Lover's Leap conditions
Planning to head to the Leap this weekend, for the first time. How's the snow/wetness/general conditions? |
its primed and ready to go! |
Awesome, thanks Brennen. |
Soaking wet, windy and cold. Wouldn't recomend it for a few more weeks... ;) |
Was there this last weekend. Hogsback was wet in places. East Wall was perfect. Main wall wet with small patches of snow. it's been so warm, however, I wouldn't be surprised if the wet spots have dried up by now. |

Are there always Rattlesnakes everywhere out there? Saw 6 today |

Was there over the weekend, conditions were great. They just opened the campground on Friday I think, but aren't charging until May 4. The water is not on yet. |

Part of the central wall and east wall are closed annually april-september. Main wall is not included that I know of, I went up corrugation corner this weekend.. |

Was going to go to the Leap tomorrow, but weather forecast looks like rain in South lake Tahoe. Can anyone up there verify how climbable things probably are? |

Check out the Sierra at Tahoe webcams It has rained a lot today. There will likely be some dry rock somewhere by the weekend though. |
Thanks. I'm not that desperate, will wait to head up there. Though all that snow would keep the rattlesnakes at bay... |

Just an fyi.... Came VERY close to stepping on a ~3.5' long rattler the other day at the Leap. Had just finished Bear's Reach, maybe 30' from the lip just starting to head down the walkoff and he was sunning himself on the edge of the trail. I barely heard the rattle over the wind and saw some movement out of the corner of my eye, looked down and he was coiled and rattling. I stepped within probably 8" of him. |
