Climbing on Acid
|
Unfortunately, I've only climbed on boomers and it was bouldering. There was a lot of laughing and not that much climbing. I couldn't imagine having to deal with the technical aspect of placing gear and climbing on ropes etc in that state. Now you all got me contemplating busting out the liquid for a phun climbing tripp... |

I remember hearing about an enormous bust around 12 years ago at a place [family?] where a good deal of it was being made. Seemed like after that there was almost no mention of it. That is, compared to it being very accessible and talked about in the early nineties. |

Tons, tons, tons of yosemite climbs were put up in the mid 60s-70s on acid. Plenty of people do it, I have not. it amazes me how 30+ pitches can be climbed on acid! |

I often wonder if kids still do LSD. Be a real shame if they did not. Well not that i support kids doing drugs. However if they are gonna do them i would say LSD is one not to miss. |

Is acid,LSD, typical hallucenogens still as 'safe and enjoyable as in the 60's or has it become superpowered and screwed up like the new genetically enhanced pot has become? I have had no personal experience with acid folks for over 30 some years now. |

Never tried it myself (while climbing) but friends of mine used to do it all the time. They said it was especially good climbing at night. |

BackCountry wrote:I just watched a hilarious Vice video, Monster Trucks... on Acid and afterwards was thinking about Dock Ellis (pitcher whom in 1984 pitched a no hitter game... on acid) then, out of habit, jumped over to MP.com, saw the route of the day and wondered about climbing on acid. I can't imagine it would be anywhere near doable, but oh so wish someone has experiences that prove me wrong. Pretty please?Tell that to Jim Bridwell! |

the pheonix - hahhaha in the beginning of the first video he's all "this is some good acid". what a fuckin kook! |

Kids still do acid. In fact it's having a little revival. |

Not for me, my few trips were bad ones. But I knew some of the people talked about here that put up some pretty amazing stuff on that little pattern maker. One of my friends said that it made the tiny, subtle slab holds stick out like they had a sign on them. |

That was around late 90s, and yeah it went pretty dry from about a year after he got popped until about 5 years ago. They estimated that he produced something like half the LSD in the world for about a decade or more. Fascinating story in ROlling Stone when he got popped: scribd.com/doc/8345280/Wilk… |

LSD has undoubtedly become more prominent again. Unfortunately, I see few people who are of the younger ages these days with a full grasp of the power and benefits of it. Most people see it as a party drug to go out and have a good time on. I feel the knowledge of what "tripping balls" really is will slowly fade. More of a product of the wide availability of drugs as a whole now and the changing mentality of society than anything else I think. |
