Climbing on Acid

Unfortunately, I've only climbed on boomers and it was bouldering. There was a lot of laughing and not that much climbing. I couldn't imagine having to deal with the technical aspect of placing gear and climbing on ropes etc in that state. Now you all got me contemplating busting out the liquid for a phun climbing tripp...

I remember hearing about an enormous bust around 12 years ago at a place [family?] where a good deal of it was being made. Seemed like after that there was almost no mention of it. That is, compared to it being very accessible and talked about in the early nineties.

Tons, tons, tons of yosemite climbs were put up in the mid 60s-70s on acid. Plenty of people do it, I have not. it amazes me how 30+ pitches can be climbed on acid!

I often wonder if kids still do LSD. Be a real shame if they did not. Well not that i support kids doing drugs. However if they are gonna do them i would say LSD is one not to miss.

In the early to mid 90's i agree LSD was easily obtained and being used by many...

Great great times with LSD... IT was all the other drugs that ended up not being such a good thing.

Is acid,LSD, typical hallucenogens still as 'safe and enjoyable as in the 60's or has it become superpowered and screwed up like the new genetically enhanced pot has become? I have had no personal experience with acid folks for over 30 some years now.

Never tried it myself (while climbing) but friends of mine used to do it all the time. They said it was especially good climbing at night.

I can't imagine it would be anywhere near doable, but oh so wish someone has experiences that prove me wrong. Pretty please?

Not for me, my few trips were bad ones. But I knew some of the people talked about here that put up some pretty amazing stuff on that little pattern maker. One of my friends said that it made the tiny, subtle slab holds stick out like they had a sign on them.

Pickard got busted when they were running the lab in the old decom'd Missle silo in Oklahoma. That was around late 90s, and yeah it went pretty dry from about a year after he got popped until about 5 years ago. They estimated that he produced something like half the LSD in the world for about a decade or more. Fascinating story in ROlling Stone when he got popped:

LSD has undoubtedly become more prominent again. Unfortunately, I see few people who are of the younger ages these days with a full grasp of the power and benefits of it. Most people see it as a party drug to go out and have a good time on. I feel the knowledge of what "tripping balls" really is will slowly fade. More of a product of the wide availability of drugs as a whole now and the changing mentality of society than anything else I think.

Several thoughts -
1) Yeah it's been done
2) It's probably a bad idea for most people - at least figure out how you handle your $hit in a lower risk venue first. IE: Say your partner falls and snaps an ankle or hits his head and goes out. Are you ready to rescue them? - The best general advice I can offer would be "Never do 2 stupid things at once."
3) Second best advice I can offer would be "If you are doing something stupid, keep it on the DL.
4) Referring to a later post, it is not just *kids* doing it.
5) Don't forget that it isn't just a shift in reality that might be dangerous, it is a shift in what you might considering doing on purpose. A lot of drug 'accidents' are not accidents at all. Seen plenty of that and some of the results are not pretty.
6) As for woodchucks question about it being super powered - NO. If anything, there is a profit motive today that was less present back in the day, and so people are cutting the vial/increasing the paper, whatever... a hit is smaller on average, and since the molecule has not changed, one can assume it is lighter per hit than it used to be on average. Of course the final outcome is not always that. That's because when you cat a 'dose' by 1/3 then people take 2 instead of 1... Well you get the picture, but directly to your question - no, 250ug is still 250ug.

First time I took acid was 1967 (I was 12). So I figure I have SOME history. So with that in mind...

"Tripping balls" and that "knowledge" fading?

NEVER heard of the damned things!

What the HELL is a "Tripping ball"?

Yes, or you can stick them in a microwave, then bounce on them while smoking MJ:
