I am going to be back home in Phoenix in May and looking to do some climbing with a friend who is fairly new. Does anyone know of some easy straitforward single or multi-pitch routes in the sedona area?
Queen Victoria spire is a good one in your range. A nice walk but may be a bit warm. If you like chimneys then Coffepot Rock might be good too and it's a good adventure.
Yesterday, I took some relativity inexperienced folks over to those chimney routes at Dry Creek Spires, Ten Minute Spire and Hidden Tower, both worthy fun experiences. Those who were not roped up could easily watch in the shade or sun, their choice. Climbs are shaded chimney routes. Can set top rope on Ten Minute, 5.9 Original Route and can easily lower folks on the 200' Hidden Tower Chimney Route, 5.8+...your clients could have a hard time with the squeeze.
