What is up with the land on the other side of the fence at horseshoe? I look at the cliffs on the other side of the fence every time I am there (from the HCR side). I respect that it is private property and will not climb there. It would be nice to know some information about the place. Does anyone know any thing about the cliffs connected to horseshoe?

From what I have heard, which is only word of mouth from other climbers at the Ranch, the owner of the land allows people that are close to him to climb on his property. What that means, I am not really sure. I would also be interested to hear what the deal is. (urban legend is that climbing on the other side of the fence is just as good, if not better)

Do you know who the owner is? Because I don't. If I did I would not of asked the question.

Here's a search for Newton County land ownership.

You can also get maps of land plots, with owner information, from most county assessors. It's public info, and Jasper is the county seat, so stop into the county building next time you're in the area and I'll bet someone can help you out.

It appears that you have nothing better to do then roam the internet correcting peoples grammar. Outside is knocking at your door asking you to come out of your parents basement.

Thank you for contributing to my question.
