new route shelf life

This is probably old news, but I (and friends of mine) have noticed that the "New Route" indicator on submitted routes lasts forever. It shouldn't. After 3 to 6 months it should turn off. A route cannot be new forever.

I always wondered about how long that should last as well.

Without an expiration point, it is pretty useless. I think 1 year would make sense.

I always just thought of it as a hat tip to people putting up new routes that post them on mountainproject.
