Looking for partner, partners for a week long trip into the Cirque of Towers sometime Mid to late May. Like to climb East Ridge of Wolf's Head, North Ridge of Steeple Peak. Up for suggestions in the 5.8 range. I have tent, camp gear, ropes, trad gear, glacier travel gear & experience (needed here?), good attitude. I am serious about climbing safe. ( that's about all I'm serious about). Never climbed in this area so, it'll be an adventure.

You do realize what a miserable slog that trip would be, especially that time of year? Especially travelling to two different areas (Steeple is not in the CoT). If you have never been to that area, I would recommend doing it in the appropriate season first. Best of luck finding a partner, but I'm out.

I agree with Jason. Go in July/August and enjoy dirt on the trails. I'd also consider some of the routes up Haystack Mountain.

So is there snow typically that time of year? That would be great if I could ski in. I'd rather ski than hike in.

It won't be a fun ski in. Unless you are into taking them on and off countless times. The talus will be a real hoot. And the "piton" pitch on WH will be extra spicy. Looking forward to the trip report. Good luck.

Ah, you're right Jason, Steeple is NOT in that area. I would of course want to stay in the Cirque area and climb that week. I read a trip report from climbers who were in there in April, so I know its doable in May. I'm sure it will take some work to get into the area, but im okay with that. Cant imagine it'll be any worse than the 5 days on Mt. Rainier or 15 days on Denali I've spent, so I think I'll survive. I prefer off season so there's less people there anyhow. Thanks for the beta, though. I have another trip planned for July, so it's May for me. Anyone else?

I might be interested. I spent last summer horse packing out of Dickinson Park, and will be doing the same this summer. But with so much work I had very little climbing time, so I would be interested I some suffering to get some things done before the season starts. I'd love to talk and see if it could work. I have some other things up in the air, but plan to have the end of May free.

Dave, You may want to put the South Buttress of Pingora on the list. The K-crack is fantastic. Good southern exposure.

I doubt if you will be able to get to the trail hd. But there isn't much snow this year. It is warm right now usually we get a couple of snows in April. I can probably give you an up date or maybe go with ya.

Sounds good Terry, let me know what week works for you. I think Ken said later in May would be best, and conditions would probably be better.
