I had a premonition :') The ice is going to reform in late March while I'm back out... |

Has anyone been to Joe's this week? |
Was rock climbing up LCC today and on my way out noticed a really big fissure running across the lower section of the first pitch of Scruffy Band that was not obvious from the parking lot. Looking at it coming back from the Lizard Head Wall area, however, it looked pretty bad. I did see guys climbing it at around 11 am. |

Anything in? |
Maple is good if you get there early and plan on being done by 12:00. I've been down there three times with in the last week and am amazed at what I am still finding in good condition. |

J Red wrote:Anything in? Joes? Maple? Santaquin? Provo? LCC? Ogden?I noticed from the road in LCC Wednesday night that Scuffy Band had a huge crack running across its lower section but the upper portion looked very big still. GWI was still hanging in there, first pitch looked mealy with rock poking through on the sides of the transition but there was still a strip of ice. Final upper part looked kinda beat and maybe some holes in spots. I'd guess with the record heat on Thursday, they're both maybe soup right now. Or should be. I'm not sure either climb really collapses but the avy forecast has popped up to considerable with the heat in the snowpack which is also something to consider. A lot of the bigger gullies are running with big wet sluffs. Not a good time to be in any terrain traps and since there's no re-freeze at night, stay out of Stairs and places like that. I'm callin' 'er done for the season. |

coming thru slc thurs or so and wanna crank at maple...maple syrup or moon possible to climb? i can send em in pretty warm conditions if I have to. |
Art there any ice still? Sorry my iPad forces me to write in olde Englishness. How about santaquin or maple, doth anyone knoweth |
Your best bets for ice right now would be Maple and Santaquin Canyons. |
Just drove past Pricecicle, still pretty thick looking and appears to be climbable.. |

So Lancelot is the name of of that smaller WI4/5 spear coming out of the ceiling? Or is it the monster main flow coming over the edge? |
Lancelot is the dagger line. Was wondering if the large pillar had a name? Reading back from lasts years posts sounds like it has been climbed a few times. Wondering the history on it. |

I'm at my Strawberry cabin now... |
