His blog is great. Take the time to read a few entries. Very inspirational and puts a lot of things in my life in perspective. It may do the same for you. Sounds like a great guy. It's unfortunate that we have to lose anyone that young.

RIP Kevin, condolences to your family and friends.

I followed his blog a bit, some real wisdom within. I didn't expect things to happen so quickly, but transplants put people in a vulnerable state. Rest in peace Kevin, this should be front page news. Doesn't the ultimate truth guide all of our actions? Should we not pay attention?

It's always crazy to me how affected I feel when someone from the climbing community suffers. I've never met nor even heard of Kevin, but good, good vibes to his family and friends.

Kevin was a damn fine climber and a good person. We climbed Birds of Fire just prior to his diagnosis and I was impressed with his ability, thoughtfulness, and maturity. Kevin walked the crux pitch that day, and we laughed our way up the rest of the route. That day stands out for me as one of the best I've had in the mountains, a memory I'll always carry with me. We had more adventures planned when he got sick shortly thereafter.

It is crushing to see a young man with such talent and promise be so unfairly taken from this life. RIP Kevin, you will be missed.

Kevin was an inspiration to me.
I read a short rant about his situation (dealing with leukemia since sept 2011), in the middle of which the phrase "I JUST KEEP FIGHTING" rang like a bell.

Rest in Peace Kevin.

Thanks for giving me something to remember, words to live by when things get tough.

Wow. Damn... we all lost something really special today, Kevin. You will be sincerely missed, and truly remembered. Its clear that I'm not the only person you made an impression on - thanks for being such a kind and positive guy. It really was an inspiration to be a better person. Its rad that you were such a good climber, but I'm just thankful you climbed because it meant you "spoke our language" and were part of our community - I never would have had the pleasure of meeting you otherwise. I hope your family finds this thread and gets to see what a great influence you were on lots of lives. Rest in Peace.

RIP Kevin

At least now he may have escaped the entrapped body and climb all the mountains and routes he had plotted.

Once a climber, always a climber. This community will miss you.

The Botherhood Of The Rope
A sorrowful time for those of us drawn to the High Country,
It will be an honor to share a rope, a drink, and a laugh with you Kevin in the great hereafter.

“The lovers of the heights, are a brotherhood more intimate, more closely united, more affectionately disposed to one another than almost any other group of men” -Bishop of Chester at the funeral for George Mallory

I have felt the rope between us. We are linked for life.

Terrible news, this hits close to home. I never met Kevin, but he is only 1 year younger than me and lived in Fort Collins too.

My condolences to everyone who knew him, he seemed like an absolutely standout climber with way too much potential to be extinguished by something as ugly as cancer.

RIP Kevin Landolt, you will be missed.

Really, really sad news. I had never heard of Kevin until his enormocast interview, but since then I've read his blog ( kevinlandolt.blogspot.com/) and seen his posts around here. He wrote some deep stuff and it really helped me gain some much needed perspective on this whole climbing game.

You will be missed.

Tragic, my condolances to all of Kevin's family & friends. Hearing about this brings back a flood of good & bad memories for me, I lost my best friend to cancer when we were 23 years old.

RIP Kevin.
