Ryan N wrote:Ben- you raise a great point. Can you be great at all your hobbies, or do you only get to be GREAT at one? ...I have yet to master a hobby but I have yet to get bored of one either. I have at least two dozen. I also think that one hobby can wear out a part of your body faster than 20 hobbies even if they are similar. Plus you can fill up a bigger gear closet. |

Climbing, .....and filling my rest days with physical activities that may make me a better climber... |

Climbing (in most subsets) is my primary hobby but I also surf (on occasion), dive (when I get guilt tripped into it) and have excelled at long distance hiking. I play ultimate and swim but am also interested in EMS and SAR. |

Sponge boarding is not exactly surfing(hate the belly rash). |

Activities I've engaged in during active climbing phases: whitewater kayak and canoe, ice climbing, ski mountaineering, downhill skiing, road and mountain biking, backpacking, Windsurfing, equestrian sports, archery rifle and shotgun hunting, dog training, fishing, flat water canoeing, rowing, and fitness training for all that. |

Climbing and slacklining/ highlining. That's pretty much it as far as sports go. |

A lot of similarities in sports on this thread. Personally: skiing, cycling, fly fishing, canoeing, backpacking, and the manufacture of NUCLEAR HOTSAUCE! |
