So Alone is a rock climb right around the freestanding pillar which I believe goes around 5.11 (though I've never been on it so I'm not sure). The pillar was really nice looking, but it was upwards of 35 degrees temperature, and it would have most certainly collapsed on us.
Eric Thatcher posted a write up of "Crow's Nest Gully" which makes for a good continuation of Geographic Factor if you want to extend your climb or even Summit Rattlesnake. I'm not sure if its been written about anywhere else, but I can check the Wilcox book. That has a most of the Rumney ice climbs listed in it.
Here is the link for Eric's Crows Nest Gully page.
I wanted to take a photo from this perspective that could be used as a beta map for the whole western end of Rattlesnake for winter climbs, but the conditions were real staggered this year, and I never really got a chance to take a photo which showed the mountain I her good and proper alpine dress. Next year perhaps we will have a real winter.
Oh cool. I didn't think to look under the Hinterlands page.
I've created a really good topo for the Wonderland that I need to dig up and post. I've been using Rumney (since I know it fairly well) as practice for creating topos. I've nearly finished one for Main Cliff and have some great shots of the Hinterlands, Summit, Monolith, and around Jimmy Cliff. I just want to make sure that the lines I draw are accurate enough. :)
