With practice and some tricks, there is no reason to run this out. You could sling a head every ten feet if you had enough runners (However, every 10 feet is not worth the effort). Running this out 40' between placements is not necessary and it puts the second in danger of a big pendulum. Slip-knots, rubber bands and adding weight (like an unused cam) to the sling all help a lot.

Second Pitch, 40 foot runouts. The chicken heads are few and far between for solid slinging, but it's all extremely easy climbing. In this picture there was only one chicken head that would take a good multi-directional pull.
