"wrap it thrice"

my sister used to say that to me when referring to some of my lady friends, back when I was a young buck.

first time I took her climbing I was tying and explaining a prussik to her and said, "awesome tool and easy to use. all you got to do is wrap it thrice".

The three rules of climbing:

1. Look good.
2. When in doubt, run it out.
3. Safety third.

My dad is an old school climber and this was always his advice to me. To this day, I am still not exactly sure what it means.

You never really know what you are capable of climbing until you push past it.

2) Smoking pot? Check your knot!
This one should be obvious.
