I'm going to be in Acadia this summer with my kids. Can anyone recommend a guide service? I'm a beginner climber, spent about a year in the gym, and by the time we get to Acadia, I should have some outdoor experience in the spring and summer. I'm going to learn to lead and build some basic anchors. My daughters are 8 and 12, and have some gym experience and are turning into fine climbers. We have our own gear, but I don't think i'll be confident enough to climb with them outdoors alone. There are two guides that I found on the web - acadia mountain guides climbing school and acadia climbing school.

Anyone have experience with either of them?

Acadia Mountain Guides is really good, I know most of their guides personally and have climbed a lot with them. I also took my single pitch instructor with Jon Tierney through AMG and I have nothing but good things to say.

Acadia is prolly one of my favorite Nationl Parks, been there 6-7 times. Never hired a guide service, can't comment on that. But try and catch a sun rise on Cadillac Mtn.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
