Anybody using them, have good/bad things to say? Looking for a bit warmer glove for leading ice, but still super sleek. Seems to be an Alibi glove with more insulation. Right now I'm using the Stormtrackers....Wish they were water proof, they wet out after a couple of pitches, and are not very warm. The Warrants are goretex and insulated, so I feel they might fit the bill.

I have been using the older style warrant glove for 2 or 3 seasons now and just recently tried the newer version with the funky red design on the back of the hand. It seems to be the same glove with a new design. I can't say anything bad about the glove. I use them for leading ice, they are waterproof, keep my hands warm down to single digit temps, and are extremely dexterous. The only downside is the pricetag.

I went on a glove rampage earlier in the fall looking for a good ice glove. I have a big problem with cold/numb hands so a glove with superb dexterity that I never needed to take off was what I was looking for.

The OR Warrant, wasn't it. Stiff, cumbersome and not very warm was my opinion.

I ended up with a pair of the Arc'wanker Venta SV's. They're not water proof (windstopper is technically waterproof but I don't think the seems are sealed), but the leather is extremely supple, the glove is extremely warm and I can do just about any task (including tieing my boots nice and tight) without ever taking them off.

I freaking love these gloves, even considering the price tag.

If water proof is essential the Zenta LT is real similar in feel and dexterity but a bit more expensive.

All 3 would be the "holy grail" but I think in general you've got to choose 2 of the 3:

Warm, waterproof, dextrous.

Good luck figuring out the compromise that works best!

I really like the warrant, it does take a while to break in the leather though - but that's actually a good thing. Soft leather is more dexterous to start but just a couple raps can kill palms. The warrant has stood up to a season of rapping just fine. On the other hand - I saw next seasons warrant at the Ouray Ice Fest and the leather is definitely more supple - and they claim, just as burly. I use the warrants when it's cold and I'm leading challenging terrain. Otherwise, less is more and I use lighter gloves, like stormtrackers - just rotate them out more during the day.

This is interesting, did they change the design at all?

So far I've only made a few raps with the Arc gloves and the leather seems to be holding up pretty well, but I don't have high hopes for longevity. The dexterity makes them worth it for me though.

I purchased the Warrant Gloves new this year and have been very happy with them. They are definitely warmer that non-insulated climbing gloves and so far, have been waterproof to whatever I've thrown at 'em. I do agree that the leather is some-what stiff and this far in the season, they still aren't super soft yet.

I think the Warrant is a fantastic glove. Whomever said they are not that warm si crazy.. Ive worn them in -10 degrees without being the least bit cold while climbing (mittens on belay).

The leather takes a few days of abuse to break in but once hey do they fit perfectly.

I always get cold hands (bad circulation) and after trying numerous different glvoes decided to give the warrant a try and wont be looking back. this glove is exactly what I was looking for. Warm, dexterous, and the fit is great.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
