Hey all,

I'm planning to head to EPC with my gf pretty soon, but we're both a little nervous with the recent news. We've read all the posts from people talking about stats and this and that, but what we really want to hear from are from people on the ground there now. What's it like? Do you feel comfortable? Are you disconcerted? How safe do the women in your party feel?

Thanks in advance.

I would contact magic ed he posts on here a lot. He is the local in the area and can give you the lowdown on the potrero. He also has a blog magicedspotrerochico.com with contact info. Ill be down there end of febuary for a month looking for partners if you guys do decide to go.

Hey man. I've been living here since the beginning of November. It's hard to say that anywhere is safe but I'll give you the general feeling here. Most climbers feel comfortable in and around the canyon, in town, and in their camps. I haven't heard anything from any women feeling unsafe or like they've been disrespected. There is a police force here now, after over 12 months of not having one, which is definitely a good thing. I think you are doing it right by collecting all the info you can and making your own, informed decision. Hope to see you down here.
