Hi, I'm a 21 year old female climber from California. I'm going to travel to Barcelona to study on the 9th of January until the end of June/July. I'm itching to get as much climbing as humanly possible done while I'm there and am looking for a partner to go climb both inside and outside with. I can't pack up a lot of gear but I do have enough experience to lead sport climbs outside (up to 6b, depending on the route type etc.) and follow on some trad routes. I'm super outgoing and relaxed when it comes to climbing, I just love getting out there and trying hard things! I'm also looking for any advice at all when it comes to climbing in Catalunya and around Spain- what are some must do routes/must see areas for a moderate sport climber like myself? Thanks for any response!

Hola!

Hey there! I am a 23 year old female and am also going to Europe this summer to study. I will be in Italy/France for 3 weeks until June 9, and then I would like to do some climbing! I am thinking either southern France (the birthplace of sport climbing) or somewhere in Spain. I can lead sport up to 10d, and am just learning trad, so up to about 5.8. Let me know if you think this sounds like a match!

i also study in europe - in Krakow actually, so i'm quite jealous of the wealth of climbing you have around you!!! Siurana is the most well-known place in Catalunya for sure. I am sure that, with the climbing culture in spain, half of your classmates are climbers! (okay not that many, but it should be easy to find a partner!) i may be visiting siurana myself during Easter holiday with some good friends who are coming from different parts of europe, and our abilities vary from 6a to 8b, so if you want to join, it's no problem having a partner to work a route of any level with you. you can send me a pm and i will email you back if our plan works out.

UKC's article on siurana - good information.
